These terms govern your use of stepineurope.com and any tour booked with us. The site is operated by StepinEurope UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Wönnichstraße 3, 10317 Berlin, Germany.
Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
You may use this site to browse our destinations and tour packages and to contact us. You agree not to misuse it, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or copy its content for commercial use without permission.
We try to keep prices, availability and descriptions accurate, but content on this site is an invitation to enquire rather than a binding offer.
This website does not take bookings or payments. The forms on it send us an enquiry, and we reply with a written quotation covering the itinerary, the price, what is included, and the payment and cancellation terms that would apply to that trip.
A contract comes into effect only when we confirm your booking in writing and you accept those terms. Until then no binding agreement exists, however far through an enquiry you have gone.
Prices are quoted and contracted in euros (EUR). Amounts shown on this site in US dollars or in your local currency are an approximate conversion for guidance only, calculated from a stored exchange rate that is not updated in real time. The euro figure is the one that applies.
Prices are per person and cover what is listed under “Included” on each tour page. Anything under “Excluded” is not covered, including international flights and travel insurance unless stated otherwise.
The price we confirm in writing is the price of your trip. We do not increase it after confirmation except where the law expressly permits and the contract provides for it, and never within 20 days of departure.
Payment terms — the deposit, when the balance falls due, and the accepted payment methods — are set out in the written booking confirmation for your trip, because they differ between packages and departure dates.
The cancellation terms that apply to your booking, including the scale of charges by how far ahead you cancel, are set out in the same confirmation. Please read it before you accept.
If we have to make a significant change to an essential element of your trip, you may accept the change, accept a substitute trip if we offer one, or terminate the contract and receive a full refund of everything you have paid.
Where the combination of travel services we sell you is a package within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2015/2302 and §§ 651a ff. of the German Civil Code (BGB), you benefit from all EU rights applying to packages. We are fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole.
Package organisers established in Germany must hold statutory insolvency protection, so that payments made are refunded and, where transport is included, repatriation is secured, if the organiser becomes insolvent. The certificate evidencing that protection for your trip is provided with your booking confirmation, together with the standard information form setting out your key rights under the Directive.
Package travel contracts concluded at a distance are excluded from the 14-day right of withdrawal that applies to most online purchases (§ 312g(2) no. 9 BGB). Cancellation is instead governed by the cancellation terms in your booking confirmation, as described in section 4.
This exclusion applies to package holidays. If we ever sell you a service that is not a package, any right of withdrawal will be set out at the time.
You are responsible for holding a valid passport and any visa or entry authorisation your nationality requires, and for meeting any health requirements. Entry rules differ by destination — several of ours are in the Schengen Area, and the United Kingdom is not. We can point you to official guidance but cannot advise on your personal circumstances or accept liability for refused entry.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering medical costs, cancellation and repatriation.
You are responsible for giving us accurate traveller details and for telling us promptly if they change.
We are liable for the proper performance of the travel services included in your package as required by law. We are not liable for failures attributable to you, to an unconnected third party, or to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for intent or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
The Step in Europe name, logo and original content on this site belong to us. Some photographs are used under Creative Commons licences and remain the property of their photographers; the individual credits and licence terms are published with the site's image credits.
If something goes wrong during your trip, tell your guide or our office immediately so we have the chance to put it right. Unresolved complaints should be sent to us in writing.
Written complaints: hello@stepineurope.com, or by post to the address in section 1.
We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle) under the German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act (VSBG).
These terms are governed by German law. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live continue to apply where they give you greater protection, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
